Catskill's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Catskill is proud to say, "our operations generate no wood waste".

Solid wood, good looking, good price...challenging to put together. I had to ask to have a few of the missing pieces sent to me and I had to shave two of the doors in order for them to fit properly.

One thing about this Island-in the info that came with it, it said you should always wipe the surface dry after using to protect the finish on it. I don't think there is much of a finish. There were some places that my husband and I found to be a little rough (we put this together in 1 1/2 hours)
so, we sanded it a little. But as soon as we used it again the grain lifted and it was rough again. So we solved the problem by buying a piece of scrape Corian, cut to fit the top. I love it, it's so beautiful and really makes this piece stand out. Btw, we saved over $150 on this by buying it from AllKitchenCarts.com

This was not as easy to assemble as I thought it would be - many nearly identical screws, pay attention! - but once assembled it is a very sturdy, attractive piece. Doubles my counter space; when we make pizza, we move it away from the wall and open the leaf, for a generous work surface. Attention: the wood *needs* food-safe mineral oil, probably a few coats in the first few months you own it.

This kitchen cart allows me to maximize my counter space. I can use the bread machine and the slow cooker on the cart and still have space on the counters for serving. It did take some time and effort to put together, but the directions were clear and the end result was worth it.

This cart was just what my kitchen needed! I love the drop-leaf, which gives me plenty of room for rolling out pastry, but folds down when not in use to fit nicely against the wall in my kitchen. The large drawer and bottom cupboards added much-needed storage, as well. Assembly took hubby some time, but overall, this was the perfect, economical solution to our space problem, and saved us from having to add more cabinetry and countertops to our kitchen. Love it!
