Catskill's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Catskill is proud to say, "our operations generate no wood waste".

The kitchen island is very sturdy and solid. It holds all of our pots, with room for other items. The island provides a nice big work area as well. However, the doors and top are rough and not sanded well therefore requiring alot of TLC. I would have preferred a top that was finished and wouldn't need monthly sanding and oiling. I think a laquered countertop should be offered as a finish choice. There is also no reason that the sides and doors couldn't have a better finish such as lacquer.
I like the island, but am disappointed with the quality of the finishing details.

The box was damaged during shipment, but the product was undamaged.
The island came ontime as promised, so that was great.

Very good piece. My only complaint is that it was harder to but together then I would have liked. High Quality item overall.
