It was slow to assemble, but I took my time to make sure I did not have mistakes. One drawer slightly sticks. Make sure and oil the butcher block top immediately to prevent stains & damage. Item looks very nice in my kitchen. I like this better than an island cabinet that would be stationary. If I need room I can roll to side of room.

The butcher block wood used for the top of the island, the drawer fronts, and the legs is beautiful. This would be the perfect looking and functional island if a strong wood was used for the shelf (where good support is necessary) and for three most vulnerable areas: the two side panels and large back panel. The very, very thin wood used in these areas cheapens and ruins the beauty of the unit. I am afraid my grandchild could knock out the sides or back if he accidentally ran into the island. You used stronger and beautiful looking wood on the inside sides of the drawers which no one can see. This makes no sense. I feel the unit is overpriced considering the material the panels are made of. It took hours to assemble this island. The trial and error of the bastion fastening system was quite frustrating and extremely time consuming. Actually for what I paid, I feel the unit should have come already assembled.

Very solid, USA-made, beautiful hardwoods. Easy to assemble. Looks wonderful in our kitchen and should last decades. Top quality. Buy the butcher block oil (not included) and it also needs light sanding after it's been put together.
