I am very impressed with this island. We wanted extra counter space and a few extra drawers and cabinets to store things, and this island hit all the right places. The quality really is something that surprised me, for the price especially. It is very solid and sturdy and I have no question that it will last for a long time. It took me about 2 hours or so to put together myself. It wasn't difficult, just a lot of pieces.
Aesthetics-wise, this is a beautiful addition to our kitchen, and it's utility is unparalleled.
The ONLY down-side to this, and it's a minor thing, is the drawers are a little shallow. What I mean by that that if you want to store, say, a standard spatula in them, you may have to do so diagonally or it may not fit at all. That was a bit of an issue but we have found a better places for the items that don't fit well.
All in all, after having this island for almost three months, I can't describe how satisfied with it we are. I certainly recommend it. I've even been temped to buy a second one for even more space.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was prompt (free shipping was an incredible value considering this weighed in at about 110lbs!!). The delivery guy seemed very relieved when I offered to help him bring it in (size and weight it just too much for one person to maneuver). Despite the box being scratched up and a bit dinged, there was no damage done to the product whatsoever.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
