Totally Bamboo was started several years ago by Tom Sullivan and Joanne Chen while they were trying to manufacture customized director chairs. While building the chairs they came across the idea of using bamboo, an extremely strong but also very light material. This gave them the idea to use bamboo for various household products and thus Totally Bamboo was born.

Now they produce items from cutting boards to salad bowls, their goal being to change the way the world uses bamboo. They strive to make quality products so that people will use bamboo more since it is a viable alternative to hardwood trees
Totally Bamboo’s products come in two colors. The first being a light color which is the natural color of the bamboo when cut. The second color is darker and more of a honey color. This color is achieved by steaming the bamboo which brings out the natural sugars; the color is permanent and will not fade or wash out. There is also three kinds of grains. The first is vertical grain which is 1/4" wide and is taken from the side of the split pole. Second is flat grain which is 5/8" wide and is from the face of the pole. Lastly there is end grain which is the cross section of the pole. With all these choices, you are certain to find the Totally Bamboo product to meet your needs! More on Totally Bamboo...

Comments about Totally Bamboo Chop Medium Butcher Block Cutting Board:
I love this cutting board. It's beautifully crafted. It's a great size as well...not too large, not too small!
Comments about Totally Bamboo Chop Medium Butcher Block Cutting Board:
I am thrilled to have my new bamboo cutting board. It is SOLID: very strong (bamboo is more sturdy than steel!); STEADY: It stands on four small legs and does not slide around when in use; and SUSTAINABLE: Bamboo is very environmentally friendly - 1/3 of the number of bamboo stems can be harvested every year without there being a reduction in the size of the forest. Definitely worth the money in the long-run!
