Born in Wülfrath in 1947, Fried Ulber originally studied mechanical engineering, but then he followed his original career path by studying industrial design in Wuppertal. Since 1973 he has been an independent designer, and has been in serious demand. As head of his class, his understanding and handling of stainless steel excelled which allows him to express his preference for clarity of form.
